Head over to http://www.craigslist.com and place a free ad to find the clockmaker you're looking for.

Some 'pack and ship' store will do this. Some are better than others. Find one that displays pictures of the 'interesting' things they have packed. I used one in Colorado to ship a 4'x3' stained glass pannel. It arrive in Florida in perfect shape.

If there is a "Mailboxes...Etc...." in your neck of the woods, they will probably be up for the job.
