You would, but eating these few calories each day would be extremely unhealthy. For a healthy diet you should reduce your caloric intake only by 400-500 calories and you will see great results!

you would for a while but then your body would begin starving and storing food instead of using it. Also, if you drop your metabolism too low at any point in your life it will NEVER be able to go back up quite as high as it could have been in the beginning. And that makes a huge difference. If youre thinking about only eating 500 calories a day try this instead. To do this you would have to eat a lot of fresh fruit and veggies (pretty much only that) so try eating an apple instead of candy or chips or whatever for snacks and give yourself less carbs at dinner and a big serving of veggies with almost no cals. Don't go to 500. First of all its so hard to keep up and most of the time you end up binging and combined with your lowered metabolism you gain weight. Trying for 500 calories is trying to become anorexic and no matter how much you want to lose weight you know in your mind that thats a terrible thing to be..and hard to stop once you get started

all you would lose is water weight and muscle NOT FAT and slow down metabolism dramatically not even talking about the FACT that you will gain back more as soon as start eating normal again and end up having higher body fat percentage
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

If you want to lose weight try 900 calories a day. 500 calories may be to an extreme. Also when on low calories you need to increase your protein intake. 80 grams of protein depending on your bmi is common. You want to lose fat not muscle. Eat five small meals or three meals with protein snacks between meals. Substitute breakfast and lunch with protein shakes. Avoid snacks and meals with more than 5 grams of fat and 10 grams of sugar. Drink plenty of water and start an exercise program even if its just walking an hour a day. For a free BMI calculator and ideal weight loss chart visit betterhealthandnutrition123

No you wouldn't.

You need at least 1200 calories a day to keep yourself alive. If you reduce your calorie intake below that, your body will go into what's called 'starvation mode', a.k.a the body feels that it is being starved (which it is), therefore it holds onto every bit of fat&energy it can, and stores it to keep you alive. Therefore you can actually gain weight if you reduce your calorie intake too low!

Of course, if you keep on doing this for a long time, you will lose weight, but it will be fat AND muscle.

You would end up dying if you did it for very long. For a female you will need about 1000 cals a day to survive. A male may need 1200. You would lose weight on both those amounts.

If you stuck with 16-1800, you would not be starving but you would lose weight and still have enough nutrition to survive.

Yes you would loos a lot of weight, but you would also probably die. That is no where near enough calories to eat in a day. You have to consume at least 2000 calories a day to be healthy, based upon nutritionist recomendations. To loose weight you need to watch the portions size of your food and do more cardio.

Initially you will, but then your body will go into starvation mode and try to defend itself by holding on to calories and shutting down your body systems that you need to live. Your brain alone requires so many calories to function to remind your lungs to breathe. Your diestion system needs so many calories a day to get rid of waste that can poison your system if your digestion system is not working, Your lungs and your heart, your hair eveything requires calories that is why thare is a standard min of calories that yyouneed to intake just to keep your body functionining.

If you want to lose weight, lose it sensibly by eating healthy and exercising.

DO this...Drink A LOT of water. Water will break down the body fat in the system and flash it out. Do high intense cardio work out in empty stomach, this way, the body will use stored energy (body fat) to burn it. Eat only fruits. and veggies in 50/50 ratio for now, 6 meals per day. Weight your body same hr. everyday. Your body weight changes depend on what time of the day you weigh yourself. You should be able to see the notice in 3 to 4 weeks.

Maybe not, because your body would go into starvation mode. Your body would think that you are starving, and so it would try to hold onto every bit of nourishment. That's really not a healthy way to lose weight. Try to eat small, healthy meals and get some exercise. Drink lots of water and no soda.
