Does she jump a little when she does it? If so this sounds like a sign of pain, so she'll need to go the vet to get her mouth checked, dental problems are not uncommon in cats, especially those over eight years old.
If you mean it's just a little meow as she rubs her face on your hand, maybe that's just affection!

it could be a number of things, it could be that it's a sensitive spot. . .possible a previous injury or current infection. maybe it likes it? . . . if it appears to be in pain when you touch it, id advise taking it to the vet for an xray to be on the safe side

Better shoot the cat and get another just in case something is wrong.
