How old are you? What certifications do you have? How long have you been babysitting? How long are you babysittig? Dogsitting isn't really that vital here. You let the dogs in; you let the dogs out. Not complicated. Same thing with a 9 year old. Not much excitement to be had. Not much hard childcare. 0-5 is usually the prime age group to get the most from your money. I would say around $3/hour. Why? 1) It doesn't sound like it's for a very long time (i.e. less than 12 hours) 2) You are working for your cousins; give them some slack 3) Your cousin is 9 - he's nearing the point where he will be babysitting himself in a few years 4) You really don't have to do much to take care of a 9 year old

This depends on if you plan on babysitting again in the future for these people, or if it is a one time thing.

The average babysitting job charges somewhere between $4.00 and $10.00 an hour. Since the child is older, and older children usually require less work, you'll want to charge somewhere on the lower end of that spectrum. Minimum, you want to charge $40.00; maximum, I would say somewhere around $80.00.

Most importantly, make sure you talk to the kids' parents before taking the job. The last situation you want to be in is a misunderstanding about how much they owe you, especially once you've already completed the job.

Good luck!

i keep apologizing for my pic...i can be found in the computer area... but i get 200 for a week with my nephew. mom has him on weekends. 40-50 sounds good, especially if your taking him everywhere and buying him things and always making sure he is out of trouble.

We give our sitter $3-4 per hour per kid. More if the house is clean when we return.
