i believe that all humans are created from the spirit of god and that's why there's a piece of the holy spirit in each one of us that gives us natural intuition about our relation to god. That's why it makes clear sense to believers not just because of the holy books but more because it's in your spirit.
Non believers are breaking this spirit inside of them before they break it with others around them.
so they're having a continous subcontious stugle with thier spirits that they need any sort of external support to feel at ease with themselves.
if they were so at peace with themselves then why should they bother what others think!

Wouldn't it bother you if everyone went around saying you were an evil person, or at the very least not normal, because you didn't believe there was a bubblegum fairy? Or really bad judgment calls were made that effect your life because doing the right thing would make the bubblegum fairy angry.

You can't prove or disprove the existence of a bubblegum fairy...

Are you starting to get it?

It is not so much thast people believe in God as it is what they do with their beliefs. God believers have a very long history of killing anybody who did not believe in their God(s) and in their way of worship. This tendency appears again in the USA and notably among the Southern Baptists.
The determination of fundamentalist groups like "Focus on the Family" to turn the USA into a Dominionist State is very scarey and should scare the crap out of every American Citizen as well as anybody else on the planet.

Humanity is plagued by suffering. Science has alleviated much, yet even wars remain. Man is a spiritual chimp with an atomic bomb. 2+2= KAPOW!

They believe that the disquised accoutrements of selfishness, i.e. religion, is causing it.

Christians believe that the very nature of struggle may take different disquises but ultimately it's the fallen nature of mankind that will be the cause of all suffering.

For the same reason it bothers Christians that atheists don't.
We all like our beliefs reinforced and when someone has a view that is diametrically opposed to our own it makes us uneasy; so we try to bring them around to our point of view. The fact that we never manage to do it doesn't seem to deter us.

Why does it bother you that some people believe in Vishnu? (At least 300,000,000 people in India alone.) Or Allah? (Roughly 1,000,000,000 worldwide.)

Come on, admit it -- it does bother you that not everybody believes in YOUR god.

When you understand why this bothers you, then you'll begin to understand why atheists are bothered by believers.

Good luck with that.

It doesn't bother me that they believe in God. What bothers me is that we are somehow inferior because they DO believe. We are constantly challenged, and if we do not rise to the challenge, then we are called worthless know nothings that will end up in hell.
I don't believe in heaven or hell, so that part does nothing to me, however constantly being told I am stupid kind of grates on one's nerves after a time.
The rest of my family: mom, sister, brothers...are all christian, and do not treat people like this. I think the ones who do are very afraid for their sanity to be peirced by truth.
There is nothing to look forward to after you die.
Good Day.

Why does it bother christians so much that we do not.... we have rights which christians have never expected.. we have the rights to rule ourselves.. we work with in the confines of democracy which christians don't respect... we make laws that keep order and equality for all.. still christians seek to interfere and still christians think it bothers us that you believe in god... It bothers you way more that we don't...

It doesn't. It bothers me that you think you have the right to force your belief onto others and punish and harass people who don't worship your god.
