I'm only 16, 5'8'', and havent had a growth spurt in 2 years. But recently, I've had extreme pains under my kneecaps. One day it will be my right knee, the next my left knee, the next day both knees, or any combination of that. It hurts worse at night when I'm laying down but hurts during the day only when I have to walk up stairs.

Are these growing pains or should I get this checked out? Or what can I do to at least allieviate the pain?

your body is probably lacking certain minerals and that is what is attributing to the pain. Use calcium and magnesium tablets 500mg, twice daily. You will probably find a big difference in your knees within a week.

how much do u weigh? what positions do u sleep in? it could also very well be ur last growth spurt. Yes, it would be a good idea to see ur doctor about it too. R u an athlete?Have u done some major exersion lately? try using some icyhot and see if that helps. also use heat on them it may relax the muscles then use cold to reduce any swelling.

At 16, my guess is growth pains, but it's always wise to have things checked by a doctor to be sure.
