Every single day, for the past 2 years or so, I've been constantly hounded by these dogs. It is insanely annoying that I cannot even sit in my own back yeard without being constantly barked at. Every single time i go out to the car, they are there waiting to bark at me. I swear one even woke up once just to bark at me. So the question is, how do i get rid of them? I can't possibly deal with this any longer, so anything is a possibility.

Call the authorities, and file a complaint. There are laws that protect your peace. Until they get there, and after you have filed your complaint, get a large squirt bottle, and put a solution of water and ammonia in it. When the dogs begin their barking, squirt them in the face with this solution. Don't make the concentration so great that it will damage their eyes, but a couple of squirts in the mouth will get their attention.

I once had an elderly lady for a friend. She had a wonderful little dog. A mix of some sort. She had the dog trained well and it behaved very well. Learn here https://tr.im/rn8fI

She kept an uncovered candy dish on her coffee table with candy in it. The dog was forbidden to eat the candy. When she was in the room observing the dog he did not even appear to notice the candy. One day while she was in her dinning room she happened to look in a mirror and could see her dog in the living room. He did not know he was being watched. For several minutes he was sitting in front of the candy bowl staring at the candy. Finally he reached in and took one. He placed it on the table and stared at it, he woofed at it. He stared some more, licked his chops and PUT IT BACK in the bowl and walked away. Did he want the candy, oh yeah. Did he eat it? Nope. They can be trained that well but most, I'll admit, are not trained that well. When I was a young boy, maybe 5 years old. We had a german shepherd. He was very well trained also. My mom could leave food unattended on the table, no problem. She would open the oven door and set a pan roast beef or roast chicken on the door to cool. No problem. He would not touch it, watched or not. But butter? Whole other story. You leave a stick of butter anywhere he could reach and it was gone. He was a large shepherd so there were not many places he could not reach. Really, I think the number of dogs trained to the point they will leave food alone when not being supervised is very small indeed.
.
Now if we are talking obedience training, not food grubbing, that is a different story. Way back when I was first learning obedience training one of the final exercises was to put our dogs in a down/stay and not only leave the room but leave the building for 15 minutes. The only person that stayed was our trainer, not the owners. Most of the dogs in my class did not break their stay, which would be an automatic fail. I'm happy to report my dog was one of the ones that passed.

While I realize how annoying it is, realize that these are DOGS. They don't know any better most likely because their owner hasn't bothered with obedience. Talk to your neighbor about it first, it's affecting your everyday life and if they want to avoid a very po'ed neighbor and a fine from the town then they'll do something about it. DO NOT, spray anything at the dogs like other users suggested. They are just animals. Look into the mechanical noise device mentioned above. It's more humane. If your neighbor does not comply and the dogs are barking incessantly, call the police.

airhorn.
blow it towards the neighbors' house right at your property line. make sure it's when they are sleeping or trying to talk on the phone. get as close to the dog as possible without leaving your property.
decide to go check out how the grass is growing at 2:00 am.

a squirt gun filled with tobascoe sause. spray them in the face.

most places have an ordinance where the dogs are to be quiet between 11:00 pm and 6:00 am. go outside at 11:05; call the police at 11:30 one night the next night, 12:30, 1:30the next etc. untill the neighbors get the hint that dogs are people , too and deserve a home INSIDE. (why do you think their outside all the time. owners can't deal with the barking)

I have this same problem! Every time I go out for my mail, or just drive in and out of my driveway, the dog across the street barks and snarls viciously. I'm on fairly good terms with the owners so I try to ignore it but it's slowly wearing on my nerves!

Check the dog/noise ordinances in your town and start calling the police. After so many violations, they will receive fines. Unfortunately this will start very negative relations with your neighbors.

I really hate neighbors - the neighbor to our west has an ATV and a leaf blower and a Harley and he alternates playing with them on warm days. The noise bothers me than the dog!

I feel for you. Good luck.

By getting rid of your annoying neighbors. I'd start with the police, animal control, or with code enforcement and let them know about this problem.

The electronic device suggested above is also a good option.

assuming you don't have dogs of your own, there is a product you can buy (such sources as Brookstone, maybe Petsmart) that you can "aim" at the offending beasts. it designed for outdoor use, so no worry about that. it will "hear" the barking, then emit a sonic blast - will keep blasting as long as they keep barking - that is beyond hearing range of humans, but reportedly noxious to dogs and should shut them up. they use this to train dogs to stop nuissance barking.
good luck.

Tried talking to your neighbors?

Squirt them with a hose until they stop barking.

I suggest calling animal control. They will talk to the owners. You, yourself cant do a thing, go getting "rid" of them will cause you to end up in jail or a huge fine.
