dont look at BMI - look at body fat percentage!!!
you can be skinny but have higher body fat percentage than somebody who weights twice as you (like bodybuilders)

Know if you need to lose weight

Health specialist uses a measure called BMI, short for Body Mass Index. Body mass index (BMI) is a measure of body fat based on height and weight that applies to both adult men and women. This gives a good measure of your total body fat. BMI compares your height and weight. It shows if you are underweight, at a healthy weight, or overweight.

You know how many pounds are there in 1 kg. Do not know let me help you, it is 1 kilogram = 2.20462262 pounds. Check out what your BMI is by using the BMI calculator at http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpa/bmi/adult_BMI/english_bmi_calculator/bmi_calculator.htm
BMI Category
Below 18.5 Underweight
Between 18.5 - 24.9 Healthy Weight
Between 25 - 29.9 Overweight
Over 30 Obese

Look at the BMI chart to find out how much weight you need to lose to move from obese to overweight or from overweight into a healthy range. Knowing this can help you set a good weight loss goal.

BMI is just rough estimate of the fat in your body- it will overestimate the fat in your body, especially if you athletic or muscular since muscle ways more than fat. You can't really determine your fatness from it. My advice is to go to your medical professional and have he/she evaluate you. Plus don't try to be too skinny-- you don't want to look like a walking skeleton, be happy with what you look like :).

P.S. The normal BMI for women is 20-25, 19 and below are considered underweight while 26 and above are considered overweight. 32 and above are considered obese.

You're the perfect weight. A BMI between 18.5-26 is considered to be healthy for an adult. If you want to tone up, do some weight exercises. You should of course try to eat healthy and exercise at least 4 times a week, but don't do it to lose weight. Just do it to be healthy.

So then, you should be happy about being a little skinny.
Here are some things you may want to know.
Body Mass Index is as good and better than most for lay use.
It often produces weird results like making Arnold Schwarzenegger obese, one of the greatest body builders in the world!
It has been unfortunately politically adjusted to make us more obese as a nation in order to get legislation passed to give the government more control over us.

you are TINY....20.4 is definitly on the low end of the "healthy weight" BMI scale...i want to say between 20-25 is whats considered healthy...under that means you need to gain weight or something is not right. I know its harder to understand when you are young, ecspecially in the high school days...but being HEALTHY is more important than being beyond skinny :-)

It is normal but it wouldn't hurt you to gain a bit of weight.

My dear your BMI is perfect...you are average. But if you want to be skinny you may have to bring that BMI down by excercising and eating healthier. I heard Fluidity is the perfect work-out to get long and lean muscles. Pilates and yoga are good too but they may take more time to see results then Fluidity.
