only if you become a Citizen before hand.

BTW, The Naval Academy is not the only path to a commission in the Marines. Youc an go ROTC or seek a commission directly after obtaining your 4 year degree(and Citizenship)

Here is the requirements from the Naval Academy's website (http://www.usna.edu/Admissions/steps2.htm):

Basic Requirements for Eligibility:
*United States citizen
*Good moral character
*At least 17 and not past their 23rd birthday on 1 July of the year they would enter the academy
*Unmarried
*Not pregnant
*No dependents

By the phrasing of your question, it seems you already know that graduates of Annapolis may choose to be commissioned in the Navy or Marines. The Marine Corps is a department within the Department of the Navy.

I was a naval officer and I knew a Syrian born, naturalized American citizen who was also a naval officer.

If you are qualified, then a seat at Annapolis is possible, but it is necessary for you to be a citizen to be qualified as an officer. You must swear allegiance to the US. Officers are granted security clearance to secrets about weapons, deployment, etc...and a foreign national would not be acceptable.

If you aren't born in the US, that means you are not stated as a US Citizen, one of the very first requirement to any military academies states that you must be a US citizen by the time you set foot on campus grounds. If you are currently a US citizen, you should have no problem.

I believe you can be accepted by Annapolis if foriegn born. My daughter went to high school with a young man from the Phillipines who was accepted to West Point, if this is any indicator !
