Anybody can get a urinary tract infection. There's nothing to be ashamed about. The signs and symptoms include a frequent desire to urinate, pain while urinating, bladder cramps, a foul odor to the urine, and possibly a fever. Urinary tract infections (UTI's) can come and go, but they tend to become chronic. You could try drinking a lot of cranberry juice, as this makes the urine more acidic, which is a hostile environment for the bacteria. But in general this strategy only keeps it under control. Most cases can be knocked out by a 3-10 day course of antibiotics. It would be wise to tell your mother.

frequent need to urinate, painful urination, and only going a little when you DO go are some symptoms. If these include a white substance that smells yeasty, look like cottage cheese or yogurt, and you are very itchy, then its a yeast infection.
Depending on how bad it is, it can be self treated. Take a cranberry suplement or eat/drink alot of cranberry, drinking very large amount of water (for bad cases I generally have one glass every ten minutes for an hour, then one glass an hour after that)
Yogurt helps if it is (or is accompanied by) a yeast infection, but only if it hase live active cultores. You will definatly want to take yogurt if you end up on antibiotics, and ANY time you are on them. They kill the good bacteria in you, and yogurt helps keep you balanced, as does cranberry.
Meanwhile, avoid soda, coffee, and junk food. Use cotton undies and avoid silk or tight pants, and if your having an issue bieng 'leaky' change them whenever their dirty...probably at least twice a day.
All that bieng said, there is no reason to worry about telling your mom. Its a little embaressing, but it happens. If it becomes a recurring thing, she may help you look at your diets and see what could be changed

You should go see a doctor to get antibiotics. Generally, they will ask you to take Septra (antibiotic) twice a day for three days.

They will also recommend that you drink lots of fluids. Cranberry juice helps too. Keep yourself hydrated so that the infection can flush itself out of your system.

Tell your Mom though also.

A lot of water and Cranberry Juice will help. They have home tests at Wal-Mart to see if you have a UTI and there is some treatment there too. But if it gets too painful, you need to see a doctor. Check out the website below. It has more information.

You may fell very tired and need to go to the bathroom more often. You can also experience pain in the Kidney area.
I would really suggest that you talk to your Mum, she may want you to go the docs. The doctor will most likely prescribe you anti biotics.
Drink lots of water to try and flush out the infection and get rest.

drink alot of water and cranberry juice. antibiotics would help though. A UTI is nothing to be embarrassed about. It's not like it's caused by sexual contact or anything. Anybody can get them.
