I had a new tribal tattoo done about a month ago. It's healed now as you would expect. However some parts of it look patchy and look lighter than it should be? Obviously as its a tribal tattoo it's meant to be in bold black ink - and from a distance it looks really bold. But if you look at it closer there a little patches on it that look wrong. I dont really know what to do? I was wonering what ppl think? Maybe some of you have had the same thing?

My guess is that some of the ink didn't stay in the healing process. Did you scab up a lot? It is important to keep from scabbing so the fluids that escape to the surface of the skin in the first couple hours need to be washed off to prevent that.

Your artist would likely be very happy to blend that out for you. Drop in for him/her to look at it.

I had the same thing - some parts of the tattoo scabbed up quite badly on my tribal tattoo and parts of it look like a giraffe pattern! It was the first time I'd also used "tattoo goo" (name of product). I like bepanthen a lot better on my skin - but I guess that's a personal preference. The other stuff didn't help keep the skin as soft.

I just went back to my tattoo artist who redid parts of it - no dramas.

If I were you I'd got to a tattoo artist and get it filled in just a little bit more. I wouldn't get the whole thing filled in but make it look better for myslef.

Yeah, most artists don't charge to get touch up's done on their own work. If they do, it will be pretty cheap.
It sounds like when it was healing and pealing some of the ink came off with your pealing skin, or maybe you scabbed up alot and it came off with the scabs.
If you get it touched up make sure to put an un scented lotion on it, don't scratch it, and keep it out of the sun!
