To avoid that full-of-liquid feeling after eating, what drink goes best with soupy meals?

Any kind of soup, really. And i don't mean soup as an appetizer, (because then you'd eat solid food and you don't get that full-of-liquid feeling) more like soup on its own.

Really when I eat soup I don't actually want a drink so I guess the best sort of drink would be something that you don't consume because your thirsty, but rather because you like it, such as a sherry or brandy, a whisky or other liquer. If you were thinking of a non alcoholic drink then maybe a proper milkshake as a sort of dessert?

Beef soups like beef barley or beef stew I would go for a beer, an irish red ale.
Clam chowder, corn chowder, I would have a hefewiezen.
Tomato soup I would have an ice tea with lemon.
Chicken noodle, chicken and rice, turkey noodle
I would go for an Pale ale beer.
Italian wedding soup I would suggest a red italian wine.
Any chili hot or mild I would have to suggest a Corona beer with a lime and a shot of taquila.
One drink cannot fit all its too awkward and tastes of the soup and the drink become unsimular and just dont complement the soup.
