Whenever I am trying to select a particular folder with a single click it's opening the folder instead of selecting it, basically doing the function of double click all the time. I have reduced the speed of double click option from the control panel.

You should go to Control Panel and select Mouse. Here you should find a option of selecting:
1. Single click to open.
or
2. Double click to open.

Select the second option.
Click OK and start enjoying the double click.

Good Luck...

Start
Settings
Control Panel
Folder Options

You can set your PC to open folders with one or two clicks.

it would want to be an older mouse that has been used also. you may wanna call the organisation that made the mouse and they're going to likely furnish you with practise on fixing it or a substitute form.
