Just work hard at and study both. IMHO its slightly slanted towards english as th emost important subject. Maths is more of an advanced subgect, although still very important, but english is a very basic one which you'll need more than maths. You can get by without an [in depth] knowledge of maths, its much harder to do so without knowledge of english.

Wisdom is the most important thing, but sadly they do not have a class to learn it in!
Parenting is another subject where no lessons are available and personal experience and asking for advice of wise parents is the only tool for learning.

What is wisdom? It is the right application of knowledge.

So, go ahead and get lots of knowledge of English, maths, geography, history and all of it. Then put that knowledge to good use and you become WISE. Go for it!

Math and Literacy are important-but in my opinion money skills and appropriate people skills are the most important subject in school. America hasn't been doesn't teaching money skills. For example, people who are eligable for food stamps are running around in LA with disiner handbags and eating at the most expensive restruants. People skills are learnt at school but not taught. Kids learn people skills at home and at recess. I think kids need to have structured people skills time. The bad thing about the kids learning people skills in a bad area is none of them know good behavior.
