In Mark 4:31

Jesus Says "mustard seed is the smallest seed."
But in Biology smallest seeds are found among the tropical, epiphytic orchids.

In Mark 13:24-25 the Bible says

"In those days ... the moon shall not give her light, and the stars of heaven shall fall."

This is not a very scientific point of view. The moon does not have its own light. It has only reflected light and the stars do not fall.

I know some people will try to suggest that the Bible does not say the moon has its own light .

Any answers please?

If God wanted to reveal his greatness why did he make errors in the Bible?

Had he mentioned that the earth is like a sphere, it moves round the sun in an orbit or someday man will reach the moon, then it would be more logical to believe.

There are many contradictions and much ignorance about science in the Bible. I may write a book about this subject when i complete the ones in progress now. A good example is that Kings mentions a round basin 10 cubits wide by 30 cubits around. That indicates pi is 3.00. I am an artist-engineer who uses pi often, so I know it is 3.14159+. I cannot use the Bible in my work or even to buy a hat. Revelation says stars fell unto Earth and the sky rolled up like a scroll. Some Greeks knew better than that 150 years and more befopre Revelation was written. Hipparchus accurately measured the distance to the Moon as 240,000 miles. Aristarchus said the Sun is 5,000,000 miles away. He was short, but he knew it was not on a solid dome 15 miles or less above us, unlike Revelation's author. The earliest account in the Bible says God inspired david's census. A later verse says the Devil did that. Can one have a more glaring contradiction? The Devil was copied from Ahriman the Zoroastrian evil god during the Persian Captivity, so he had not been invented in the early parts of the Bible.

I believe Jesus was using an illustration from the common knowledge of the people around him. The mustard seed was the smallest seed they would plant for a food they would eat. He wasn't teaching that the mustard seed was the smallest seed in the whole wide world, but was the smallest seed for a crop in their own known world.

The moon will not give her own light means exactly that. We have seen this occur when we look up through the haze of smoke. Since this event will occur during a time of war, it makes perfect sense.

Remember that we think it fine to say that the moon rises in the east and sets in the west. That is a description of what we see with our eyes. We know scientifically that the moon rotates around a spinning earth. In the same way, the moon not giving her light is what will be seen with the people's eyes when thick smoke obscures the moon.

The stars will indeed appear to "fall" when they approach Earth when we use Earth as a frame of reference, as we do in ordinary life.

i'm no longer likely to reveal screen the video as a results of fact i'm constructive it is basically the standard stuff that persons have been citing for hundreds of years to objective and disprove the Bible. i've got seen and heard all of them. I used to have self belief a number of them too. despite if, while i individually appeared at each and every of the meant "errors" and "contradictions," I observed how they have been the two ordinary misunderstandings consistent with an lack of expertise of the languages or cultures or ineffective tries by utilising those with small minds and smaller hearts. everyone who extremely believes that stuff desires to truly study it plenty closer and, in the event that they're uncomplicated with themselves and with the reality, they are going to see for themselves that it is no longer something greater beneficial than "stiving after the wind."

This is simple as can be, and only goes to show how ignorant some people are.

If Christ had referred to epiphytic orchids people would have stood around scratching themselves asking "what the hell is he talking about?"

If Christ had attempted to differentiate between the "Stars" and Commets with the populace they would have stood around scratching themselves asking "what the hell is he talking about?"

If Christ had attempted to explain the light of the Moon actually being reflected with the populace they would have stood around scratching themselves asking "what the hell is he talking about?"

Of course, from your question, I assume if you were teaching kindergarten you would immediately start on the laws of thermodynamics and Quantum Physics seeing as how you are just so smart that you not only know everything you can teach anyone anything.

The moon not "giving light" would refer to it's observable reflection of light.

Revelation 9:2 speaks of the sun darkening due to smoke from the pit - e.g. the sun would appear to darken from the thick smoke.

I would elaborate on the others but your inflections cause me to suspect you are simply looking for excuses not to believe.

Have a great day.

The only error here is in trying to read the Bible as a book of science. There are no errors in the message the Bible was intended to convey, which is the message of salvation. Anything else is irrelevant.

The moon and stars were time keeping devices of the time, this basically is a time metaphor, which the early Bible readers would have understood because they got their time from celestial objects, unlike us obviously.

So in this verse we can interpret Jesus as saying "their time will be up"

The mustard seed was the smallest seed anywhere around them, do you see any tropics in the Middle East? And yeah like you said, it doesnt say the moon actually produces its own light.

Tumbleweed blows past as the Christians gather and mutter together desperately.

All you'll get back is some nonce stuff about Jesus and God, and how they are always right and don't question it..

What is your question? It says "errors in the Bible"...I believe there probably are...but that is a statement not a question.
