They pay fortunes for their campaigns. They're desperately trying to disprove Evolution, arguing that the banana was intelligently designed to fit our hand. They have become obsessed with atheists!
What is it that they're so worried about?
Are they afraid to lose their jobs or smthg?

Atheists are obsessed with Christians teaching people the truth.

Many Atheists claim that Atheism is the reasonable or logical choice since no evidence exists that proves the existence of God.

Since eyewitness testimony is evidence in a court of law, the majority of courts in the world, people who can testify to the existence of the Lord God are themselves evidence.

By rejecting evidence that is acceptable in the majority of courts in the world by claiming no evidence exists Atheists are not only hypocrites they are closed minded, illogical and unreasonable.

Agnostics I can understand since I can understand someone saying, "I am not swayed by current evidence to either believe or disbelieve". This is a more open minded position and infers that the person could be swayed by evidence they accept.

Atheism; the hypocritical, closed minded, illogical and unreasonable choice.

I am sure christians aren't afraid of atheists. Lots of used to be atheists! I did. I sort of hung out there ambivalently between agnosticism and atheism and that's what I told people.

If christians have "obssessed" on atheists, I'm sorry. That shouldn't happen. I don't hate or fear atheists. Why should I hate or fear someone I don't agree with? I don't! I only hope one day to encourage them that God exists. And that not because I want to "save people from hell", but because I want people to know about how wonderful and loving and kind God is. And that He's not the monster lots of people out there describe Him to be. All that "hellfire" stuff is not true.

As to the banana theory, I would say, I never heard it but I would carefully say here that bananas also fit the hand of monkeys, and no, I don't believe in evolution. I'm sorry, but I just can not believe that you and I came from monkeys anymore than I can believe that a horse came from a dog. We have things in common, but we are far to diverse, and so I just cannot believe that! Even before I was a christian I was troubled by the theory of Evolution, because it just doesn't make full sense. But I did believe in it. Truthfully, though, what a nominal, shaky belief! If you want to see a different perspective... one that's good and very thorough to present a scientific, christian perspective on life, earth, the animals, etc., I would strongly recommend the DVDs available from Dr. Kent E. Hovind at www.drdino.com.
As to whether or not we worry about losing our jobs, no not really. I'm not worried! I know some day (when we die), we'll all believe the same thing about death, life, eternity so I don't worry about it, but I'm honestly sorry you've been offended by anyone who says they are a christian and come across offensively to you.

I'm a christian, but some of my favorite people are atheist. I don't pity them, that's just crazy. I like them mostly because they are honest and really really good people. They don't try to act a certian way just for some reward in the end game or because they think hell and brimstone will rain on their heads. They are just honestly great people. Everyone I have met that are athiest have been super nice and I've met some real jerks that were christian. So I don't pity them, I learn from them. I follow in god's foot steps because of love and not because I might go to hell or I want to go to heaven. I live day to day doing what is right, right now. If I make it to heaven, great, if I don't, I've stocked up a marshmellows and hot dogs! jk I also have two hindu friends, an Toaist, and a Wiccan friend. I get along great with all of them, and they get along with each other. Christians can get along great with ANYONE if they just learn to be secure with them selves. Everyone is so afriad that they might be wrong, that they forget to look at whats right in front of them. You have to live now people. Death will answer everyone question anyways, stop fricking out all the time!

PS: I believe in evolution 100% - but I don't believe in the "We come from monkys".. theirs just no conclusive evidence of it. Hard core christians are so quick to dismiss evolution, but you know what, everyone one thought the world was flat and that the sun rotated around the earth once upon a time... lo and behold, its pretty much proven false. No need to fear the science people, it's just an explination on how god works his magic.

Christians give up a lot and feel guilty for every non-christian thought that enters their heads. It pains them to see atheists enjoying life guilt free.

The more people they can convice to believe like they do, the better they feel about their own decision to be a Christian. It's the same reason pot smokers constantly try to get you to smoke with them.

Of course Christians will say that they're "emotially rich", and that they're just trying to "show you the light" so you can have "eternal life" through "salvation" and be "happy" like they are.... but that's all just a crock. I've known a LOT of Christians and none of them were happy people at the core.

Religions persist by attracting and producing new adherents and holding onto the adherents they already have. Everything that religions do can be explained by that fact. It's really just evolution in action.

There's a serious "emperor's new clothes" effect going on with respect to religion: it's obvious, if you're willing to admit it, that there are no gods, that when we die, we're done, there's no such thing as 'souls', etc. Those beliefs can persist as long as no-one questions them, but atheists of course do point out the problems with those beliefs. That's a threat to religion.

John (below), your answer is pure foolishness and you know it. The fact that lots of people believe something is not evidence that something is true. If you apply your argument to one of the countless beliefs that you do NOT hold (let's say, astrology, or 'Brittany Spears is a talented singer') you'll see that in an instant.

You really should have thought this through before posting that arrogant, ignorant comment. If you had a real argument in support of god's existence, you'd have posted that instead of this drivel.

they are afraid that as soon as they fall down because The Land Letter sent to President George W. Bush by five evangelical Christian leaders on October 3, 2002 which outlined their theological support for a just war pre-emptive invasion of Iraq. The letter was written by Richard D. Land, president of the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention. It was co-signed by Chuck Colson, founder of Prison Fellowship Ministries, Bill Bright, chairman of Campus Crusade for Christ, James Kennedy, president of Coral Ridge Ministries, and Carl D. Herbster, president of the American Association of Christian Schools.

Nobody is "afraid" of atheists! The problem lies in how you have phrased your question! When people of opposing viewpoints, especially those that come from the fringe of society seem to think "dislike" and "disapproval" is the same as "afraid".

Your question is based on a false assumption. Christians, or anybody who has a viewpoint opposing yours is NOT AFRAID of your beliefs. They simply do not agree with, or approve of what you espouse as "truth".
