I am a 49 y/o male with ADD. I was on Ritalin for 12 years, but it sorta stopped working last month and my ADD symptoms came back full-on. I recently started Adderal XR-30mg in am and 15mg in pm. Does anyone have any personal experience with taking Adderal for ADULT ADD?

Yes what a change in medications. I think personally for me the extended release adderal worked better than the ritalin. I was able to function more and now I am feeling normal again. As we get older our bodies change along with our chemistry and so there is always room for improvement. If you don't see any significant signs of improvement I would contact your physician right away. Thats what they get payed for. Also I experienced relief right away with in a few days better than the ritalin which took me a minute to get my focus back.

I'm not convinced you'll notice a significant difference between ritalin and adderall (very similar, chemically). MANY adults have had marked success with Strattera, however.

It would be worth your while to give it a try, particularly given that ritalin has become less effective for you recently.

Best of luck to you,
