sadly enough yes, you won't be able to stick to a diet untill you really want it...

you just have to forget yesterday, don't think about tomorrow, and make today the best..ie stick to a diet for one day, exercise for one day.

and dream, dream about what it would be like if you acheived your goal.

Yes, I was like you, still are sometimes, I think that the most practical way to go about handling the situation is to stop thinking of this as a diet and try to commit to it as a lifestyle. We go on a diet and that simple phrase has built within it the message that it will end, that is so depressing to think that as soon as I lose ten or five or fifteen pounds that I am just going to start eating like crap again so why don't I just keep eating the crap now? If you make a commitment to exercise and eat better but have the knowledge that there is going to be the occasional piece of cheesecake or the Christmas party where you are going to overdo it but when you wake up the next day you get back on track, you'll feel a bit less like you are in prison. Don't punish yourself for not living like a monk, if you are like 85%-90% solid on your food choices and you move around alot more, you will find that just naturally things work out pretty well. Occasionally you might have to crank it up for a few weeks for bathing suit season or whatever but at that point you won't be staring at the horror of starting from ground zero.

Hope this helps, don't give up and above all, be nice to yourself.

change your eating habits and think about what you can not what you cant eat
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

i didnt get the last part of your sentince, but i'll try help you as best as i can.

Start loving the way you look. Pick out your flaws and put them on a piece of paper...SCRUMPLE IT UP AND SAY "BEEP, BEEP and BEEEEEEEEEEP" chuck it out the window, burn it, do whatever the hell you like, but destroy it!

If that dosnt work, try looking at the places you dont like on your body, try to think that there totally fine and actually look quite good, minipulate your mind into thinking your fab! it can defently work!

last thing, before you start "dieting" remeber that you have to love yourself already to loose weight, and all your doing is making your fab self look more fab!
I do not recomend going on a diet, but a healthy eating plan, so you can gradually loose the weight you have, and keep it off for good (ask your doc for more info about the healthy eating plan)

AND GOODLUCK!
