When i click on IE explorer i get a message as below
The procedure entry point InternetGetSecurityInfoByURLW could not be located in the dynamic link library WININET.DLL.

It seems this problem may occur if you are using a beta version of Windows Internet Explorer 7. To resolve this problem, i tried to upgrade to the release version of Windows Internet Explorer 7. However it still did not work. There was some information available on how to solve this. But it did not help.
Any idea on hoe to solve this?

Appears that you pc has been infected with spyware.

I suggest that you use two free programs that I use an are really state of the art technology.

Superantispyware, http://www.superantispyware.com This program is well known to remove spyware missed by all others. You will also get automatic updates. Just download their free version.

A2Squared Malware, http://www.emsisoft.com Download their free version as this software scans for rogue dialers, worms, keyloggers, trace spyware, malware, trace cookies and rogue cookies. You will have to perform daily updates of your signatures on a manual basis with the free version.

Run both as one will find what the other one misses. When the spyware is found, reboot to be on the safe side.

Also here is a third one. AdAware Se Personal out of Sweden, http://www.lavasoft.com This company has been around in the spy detection technology since computers became commercial.

You are safe to run two or three antispyware, but only run one antivirus or you will have serious conflict with your system.

You can uninstall IE7 through Add/Remove Programs and it will automatically retrograde to IE6.

But you may also have corrupt or missing system files critical to your operating system. You may want to consider running a System File Checker. To run this go to:

Start
Run
Type in sfc /scannow (include the space before the " / ")

It may prompt you for the operating system installation disk. If that is the case, then you know that you definitely have file corruption or something missing. Insert the disk if prompted.

Don't surf or run anything while SFC runs. After it is completed, reboot your computer.

One of the major culprits in missing or corrupt operating system files is running a registry cleaner or optimizer. They can flag important shared files for deletion or cleanup. Another cause is malware.

Good luck.
