I only have USB 1.1 on my laptop (so I cannot connect any more internal hardwawre). Is there anyway that I can get some sort of external hardware that allows me to use USB 2.0? Im guessing not, but I do not know everything! Hence the question.

Any advice will be much appreciated.

I don't quite understand what internal hardware you wish to connect on a laptop ?
To connect USB 2 external hardware ie Midi devices, USB 2 hubs, cameras and so on you can get a USB 2 PCMCIA card but either the card or the device will need to be powered. I use a belkin 2 port USB card and it works well.

No, your laptop is stuck with the older USB speed.

TIP: Most USB 2.0 devices will work on USB 1.1, only slower.
