As soon as i start my computer up its already using 70% of its RAM. Ive tried turning a few of the startup programs off in MSconfig, but it dont really help. Plus i dont know what half of them are, so im not sure if i should turn them off. Help!

Go to google and type in hijackthis download that program run it, then post the results on here, and me or another tech savvy person will tell you what is safe to remove and what is not.

ok first decrease ur startup programs by going to ms config and in that click start up and in that try to find the location of the files so that u can get the details of the software which is important to u or not .
secondly free up the temp files and also the cache files which are generally present in the ram.

If using XP SP2, you need at least 512MB of RAM. Buy more RAM.

Also, remove all malware.
