Reinstall the Ethernet controller software
from your computer hardware utility CD.

There actually a lot u can do :
1) Go to device manager n see either the driver or u got "!" simbol.
2) reinstall the driver from your utility cd.
or Download the driver from www.driver32.com
3) If all fail buy another Ethernet Card n install it into pci port..

Check the CMOS setting to verify that the built-in ethernet controller is enabled.

The NIC driver is missing or corrupt.

Re-install it along with all the motherboard drivers.
