Stafford is very good. His injuries at times have really hurt him. His start was very similar to Peyton Manning's except for the injuries hampering him. I have to disagree with you on the offensive line and receivers. Everyone knows he has a great group of receivers. And his offensive line has been one of the best in the league. There's no way he accomplishes the yardage he does without them. And yes, he did start out with a horrible defense, but that defense has improved a lot. It was the only way they made the playoffs a year or so ago. The main problems with the Lions that I see are two things: 1. They lack a good running game. All they do is pass, pass, pass. They've got to run it more. 2. Horrible play calling. They played so many of the best teams in the NFL to very close games last year. I saw them do it against the Colts. Then they called plays that managed the time horribly. They had a lead against the Colts and all they had to do was work on running the clock down. Instead, on multiple occasions, they tried for long yardage passes and failed basically every time. I understand passing the ball if you don't basically have a good running game at all. But at least do short passes to the middle of the field to keep running the clock down as much as possible. I also don't like your argument for the interception rate. Seems totally off to me. The INT rate shouldn't depend on how much time the QB is given if he is a truly good quarterback like you say Stafford is. Peyton Manning and Brady never have much time to throw the ball and they have very low interception rates because they are good at finding 2nd and 3rd option receivers and throwing it away when nothing is available. It should depend mainly on two things: 1. How good Stafford's decision making is. Many quarterbacks like Stafford and Cutler tend to force a pass when they really shouldn't be trying for a pass to that receiver because he's too well covered. 2. Whether his receivers run the routes properly. For example, the receiver is supposed to slant in front of the defender and instead slants behind him resulting in the defender being where the receiver should have been. Considering that Stafford has high quality receivers that are veterans, I doubt that the receivers are running the routes improperly. So really the fault likely can be attributed to poor decision making by Stafford. Regarding Kaepernick, I've got to disagree with you. Yeah, maybe he hasn't thrown for really high yardage season like Stafford. This was really his first chance to start, so give him a little slack. The guy went into Foxboro and beat Brady. That's tough to do for any quarterback. But the big difference of Kaepernick is that he is on a team that is coached much better. Look at the way Jim Harbaugh has turned teams he's coached around almost overnight. And don't forget that Harbaugh was a starting NFL quarterback himself. And he started Kaepernick over Alex Smith that was completing 70% of his passes last year. That's an incredible completion percentage. But Harbaugh made the right move. And it worked for them. Kaepernick is good. For as little as he's started, he's shown very good decision making under a lot of pressure. And he is also quite mobile. To me, it sounds like you're making a lot of excuses for Stafford. Granted, I think Kaepernick is on the better team, just like Sanchez, Flacco, Brady and Big Ben all got lucky and were able to start with great teams. However, unlike Sanchez and Flacco, Kaepernick is a very good quarterback. Harbaugh should know. He was a former starting NFL quarterback.

My bro is just like you, he won a shirt signed by Pele last year, framed in the living room, and then this year spent half a day on the internet to get tickets for the opening match at Wembley, boy, I wish they could make the game more interesting, ie. hidden landmines on the pitch, crocodile pools, some stinging nettles etc.

I always has this question for all football fans, when you refer to 'your team' and pay god knows what to watch 'your team', does 'yor team' know who you are ? do they even know you just paid $$$ to watch them ? when 'your team' won, do they share their cup with you ?

All I see (no offence as this is a personal view totally) is fans are paying big bucks to watch the players kicking a ball, and get pay £50k+ a week, I do not dispute some of their talents, the way they twist around (which is quite fun to watch) and kick the ball, but this is a sport turned business ??

When I hear Sky or C5 ? paying £300m for the rights to show matches, I ask myself ...huh ????
