Ugly Betty is seen as ugly and all this nonsense just because she has a bad dress sense with a curved figure and braces. I love the programme but i feel the ads prior to the show showing many people with red glasses and braces was going a bit far. What do you think?

well i think ugly betty(the girl who plays her.)is very gd looking.they should of got an ugly women to play her.but i see no women is ugly! but just braces and glasses and bad clothes does not refine the word ugly.

It's a marketing ploy. They sell a t-shirt with a cartoon image of the title character that says 'Be Ugly.' Basically, by showing all these people dressed as Betty, they're showing that everyone is 'Being Ugly.' Also, it's showing the show's tagline, 'Find the Beauty in Ugly.'

I love ugly betty . who looks at the ads anyway ? I think it is making a point that we should not judge ppl by the way they look. I love ugly betty .

i totally agree with you, i love ugly betty and i would quite like to see her get together with daniel. but i think braces and glasses dont look bad at all and i think they quite suit betty's face.:-)

I think it shows how shallow and pathetic television is that they take a pretty woman and make her up to be "ugly", it riles me no end.
Don't watch the show no more , so have not seen the adverts

I love the show. I agree I think they went a bit far but if you see all the skinny perfectly dressed beautiful woman then I understand why they did it.
