There is no "shame" in what happened. Had it been up to Harry, he still would have gone.
The problem is the British Press (aren't they always the problem?!), who would report his every movement, and he would have been a walking target, moreso than other troops. When the MOD decided initially to deploy him to Iraq, it was on the front page of every single UK newspaper for a week. I mean, they might as well have painted "I'm Prince Harry - Shoot Me" across his chest.
Consider the other men in his unit for a minute. Why should they be put at further risk?
I would recommend Harry be deployed to the Balkans or somewhere else where he can do his duty quietly and without so much hype from the press.

His relatives line is nicely documented for debauchery, intercourse scandals and depravity that reaches depths a honourable ordinary working guy and woman would not dare to descend. just to call some Edward VII, George IV. on the tip of the day once you sum all of it up and place 'sexy' Harry's alleged rampaging intercourse events and he would not opt to have his photograph splashed around the area's web pages and newspapers in compromising postures. There can purely be one answer. it is basically. do no longer do it! till you opt to circulate down in royal background as. Billiard Balls Harry Wales! Be arranged for the Palace scribblers to rewrite the finished episode and make 'sexy' Harry look 'Whiter than white'! next time you will hear of him in Afghanistan 2 hundred miles at the back of the front traces making it look that he's the hero of the hour.

What shame! This young man trained for his position and was ready to go to Iraq. Then Al-Quida kept taunting him with a bounty on his head. But he still wanted to go to Iraq. Finally, the decision was made not by him or his father saying "This would place all of the men under Prince Harry in harms way!"
There is no shame! I don't understand why you would even think this...

What Shame? Prince Harry is behaving the same as 90% of the young Adults and Teenagers in this Country!!!
Also compared to some of the previous Royals he is doing nothing they have not done.

Let's just put this into perspective here Royal or not he signed the dotted line and he needs to getting his *** out there which is what they pay him to do. Never mind all this bullshit about if he goes everyone will be at risk they ******* are anyway or have people forgotten soldiers have lost there lives.
I am an ex serviceman and it absolutely stinks of red tape and i am glad that I am out of it. One thing is for sure he will have lost all respect he had from his colleagues if he had any to start with.

I agree with Sol. Prince Harry has nothing to be ashamed of in this instance. He wanted to go and fight with the rest of the soldiers and a decision has been taken to prevent him doing this. This is out of his control and must be hard for him to accept. Incidentally, I believe the decision not to send him was a sensible one even if it is not a popular one. They did the right thing here but I do feel sorry for Prince Harry.

What 'shame' are you referring to?
Regardless of your answer I still say that Princes Harry and William are the only two people in history who can do whatever they like and we, the devoted public, can take a step back and say 'Well, yes but look at what they have been through.'
Listen to the Jimi Hendrix song 'The Wind Cries Mary.'

i don't really see that there is any shame to recover from. he's no worse than any other member of his family and he hasn't done anything particularly awful.
with regards to his army career i just feel sorry for him - he clearly enjoys it but isn't allowed to do the same things as everyone else - but it would be bloody stupid to send him to iraq as he would be a massive target and put others at risk.
it's the MoD who've made pilocks of themselves. and yeah, it sucks that he is singled out, but his life isn't being valued higher than anyone else's, it's because he would put other's at risk that he can't go.
and he's ginger, poor bugger.

I don't think the shame is Prince Harry's or the Countries, it is Tony Blair's for putting us in this ridiculous position and needless war in the first place. That's the place to lay blame!

How is he being a coward by having to submit to his superiors' decision not to send him? There's a difference between being in danger during a war and being specifically targetted. It places him and everyone with him in a lot more danger than the average soldier. That isn't fair to either his unit or their family.
