It depends on how long you are using a certain pill. It can take up to 3 months for your body to adjust to those new hormones you are introducing. If after 3 months you are still having irregular bleeding then I suggest trying something else. Try something Low Dose, maybe the hormones in the others are too much for you.

I would keep trying different pills until you find the right one. If you aren't waiting at least a month though, it isn't having enough time to regulate your system. So, that is probably why you are having break through bleeding. Have you though about the ring or patch? They may work better for you. Talk to your doc, they should be able to give you better advice. Try to keep a log of when you are bleeding in correlation to when you are taking the pills. It may help them help you. It could be something as simple as you are starting the pills at the wrong time in your cycle. The doc should also give you a pregnancy test before putting you on birth control to make sure it is safe. They should also be letting you know if you are taking or doing anything that could counteract the effects of the BC, like antibiotics, or smoking weed for example. Good luck with it, and keep trying. It actually sounds normal. My body took a while to get used to the patch, even though it may be effective after a week or so, your body still needs to get used to the new stuff in your body.

It can sometimes take the body a while to adjust to being on the pill. Spotting is a common side effect when it comes to adjusting to the pill and should stop after 3 months. As for nausea (if that ever becomes an issue) try taking the medication with something to eat such as peanut butter (it helps give the body protein among other things). Also, you may need to try taking it at a later time such as before you go to bed. I had to start doing this myself a number of years ago because of the issues with nausea.

I would also recommend talking to your dr about this to see what they think because depending on how long you have been on some of these pills and if it's been more than 3 months you may need to try something different.

i have the same problem but i have PID and nothing agrees with my body because its completely messed up, maybe its the pill or just not the right contraception for you. talk to a dr and see what they think, they might put you on the depo or something. if you think you could be pregnant do a test before anything. gd luck.

I had problems with the pill too... i had to go onto a lower dosage & it was better but still, I was getting sick, feeling queasy & nauseaus... so i've just stopped it for a while & i've never felt better!! But I think you should see your doc & see what other options there are.. Maybe a non oral contraceptive is the answer?
