Obviously you'll need red. To get the darkness, add blue. Blue is the complimentary of red so it will darken it very nicely. Contrary to what many people believe, adding black to a color to make it darker is, in general, a bad idea. It just makes the color look dirty and takes the purity of the color away. To get the deep rusty-sorta maroon, add small hints of brown until you reach your desired shade of red.
