It is running OK so you have corrected the initial problem now to reset the engine light try just disconnecting the battery leads and it should reset but you may have to recode your radio.~~

Make sure if you start playing around with your spark plug wires that you put every wire back on the same plug and matching terminal on the distributor as it was when you started, because the plugs have to fire in order for your engine to run properly, if run at all. Don't find out the hard way that you took off all your wires and now don't remember which wire goes where, because at that point you're screwed. You're best off to write it all down before you even touch the first plug wire, and when you are replacing them, do them one at a time to cut down on mistakes or confusion.

Check engine lights come on usually for a change in your vehicle's emissions... a mechanic with a computer code reader can hook it up to your car and get the error code your car's computer is registering. You can probably get that diagnosis for cheap or free from a shop, with them being so generous in the hopes you will pay them to fix whatever the problem is. Get that code and hop on the internet (if they don't tell you at the shop what the code means) and look up the code for your make/model of car. It could be something ridiculously easy that you can do yourself. If it is just a matter of resetting the light (again depending on your make/model of car), there are countless pages on the internet giving step by step instructions (some with pictures too!) on how to reset it. Chances are that when you lost a wire and had a cylinder not firing, your car's computer saw a serious change in the exhaust emissions, and threw the light on.
Either way, if you take your car in, I'd suggest you ask the mechanic/shop/dealership you take the car to if they charge a diagnostic fee. Some places will diagnose the problem for free, some charge you $60 an hour for the same service. Don't get surprised by a diagnostics bill when no actual work was done to your car.

Was it vent er uh bent because u ran over it? lol. Go to auto zone. they will help u get the check engine light out or find out why its still on. try unhooking the battery cables for a couple hours , that's what the techy at auto zone told me to do whenever you do a repair or replace parts like tps or egr or o2 sensor ect. Unhook the battery before repair but try it again for a couple hours and hook the battery back up and the light may stay off if it don't send another code.

It was vent? I dunno what that means, but if it's running fine, you needn't take it in. You do need to get the code cleared, but the dealer doesn't have to do that.

But, call them and ask how much to reset it, as you already fixed it. That won't cost anything.

Some auto parts stores do it for free.

Don't listen to advice on getting a complete tune up. We don't know what year it is, what the mileage is, and it makes no difference if you change 1 wire.

ADDED: Have the codes read and cleared anyway. May be something else, and maybe not.

If the check engine light is on, you need to get it properly diagnosed. I am leaning toward a fuel filter replacement and an air filter replacement, I am kinda psychic so i am diagnosing your car right now through my brain. It also says to change your air filter and fuel filter and good luck.

YOU SHOULD GET THE VEHICLES COMPUTER SCANNED AND CHECK FOR ANY PROBLEMS AS WELL AS CODES AND THEN YOU WILL HAVE A GOOD IDEA ON WHAT THE PROBLEM TRULY IS.

TRY FINDING AN INDEPENDENT SHOP INSTEAD OF THE DEALER OR A CHAIN STORE BECAUSE YOU WILL BE OVERALL MORE PLEASED WITH THE FINDINGS AND THE SERVICE.
