Think about all the regulations and the paperwork that goes along with them. Aren't they the cause of big corporations? Don't the arguments that are against Socialism also true against big corporations? Shouldn't we have a free market in the economy where most everybody owns their own business (or works for others to make enough money to start their business)? Doesn't the free market help achieve the "common good" and equality better than government ever could?

If this is the case, why shouldn't all of us support free market Capitalism (with strong penalties against fraud, rather than preventive regulations that create big corporations)? Wouldn't it also be better for the environment if we had stronger private property protections and anybody could buy up property to protect endangered species, rather than risk extinctions because of politics in Washington?

Wouldn't the free market achieve the goals of Democrats better than government?

I would not say yes, cart blance, but certainly I would agree that there are way too many regulations being put on small business.

We should be helping small businesses, not discouraging them as our current system does.

You are right about fraud and other abuses though. We should come down hard on that sort of thing.

Absolutly. Its not just corporate welfare that is hurting small businesses. There are also the increase in taxation on businesses, minimal wage increases, and many different state laws that are putting pressure on the economy. The democrats are so focused on taking out the corporations they don't know the amount of pressure they are putting on the smaller guys, and don't get me started with the Bush administration when it comes to the economy and free trade.

Yes

Many of those regulations were put on the book at the request of big business to prevent small business from succeeding.

Go to Ron Paul's home page he actually wants to end over regulation. The guy creeps me out but he has some really good ideas.

No it wouldn't. Laissez faire capitalism was a disaster in the 1800s. However, pure socialism won't work either. We need to keep the profit incentive, but at the same time have the government intervene when needed.

The government is trying to smother small businesses. Notice the "corporate welfare" only goes to large corporations. Bush is killing the little guy and all of the "mom and pop" stores in our country.

it quite is precisely what they reason. elevating minimum wages injury the small companies who employ intense college childrens who artwork for them after college. Requiring new insurances kill income meaning that they could desire to lay human beings off and can't produce as lots. Liberalism is super for the super firms, who can locate the money for to conform with their demands and street gangs. anybody else loses!
