i hear they are good cars so why such a bad drop in value

they have never had good resale value, but that makes them a good second car.

usually when they drop the value they are getting ready to remodel it or stop making it all together.. in this case you'll be looking forward to a 2009/10 mercury grand marquis and ford crown victoria!

its all supply and demand. they are actually fairly reliable cars but like alot of american cars, have bad depreciation because people perceive them to be bad values. ford taurus is the same way. u can get a one year old taurus for like 13k!

It may be because of their poor gas mileage. All vehicles that get poor gas mileage are taking severe hits in value as prices continue to go up up and up.

They get about 10 miles per gallon!! LOL
