How do tangs go with them?

My personal favorites for fish for smaller marine tanks are long-nosed hawkfish, Bangaii cardinals, green reef chromis, clown gobies, scissortail gobies, and canary blennies. All are easy to care for and relatively peaceful. I'd only advise getting one type of the gobies/blenny, but the scissortails can be kept more than one to a tank - same with the chromis. The Bangaiis can be kept as a pair, if you or your store are good at sexing them and they may spawn in your tank. I like the hawk most of all - they don't have a swim bladder and spend most of their time perched on something in the tank, but when they see a person they know, they swim over to the glass and greet you.

Compatibility: Dartfish, Dragonets, Filefish, Foxface, Gobies, Grunts, Jawfish, Hawkfish, Parrotfish, Pseudochromis, Puffers, Squirrelsfish, Tangs, Wrasse, Live Corals, Live Rocks and Invertebrates.

Avoid these tankmates: Groupers, Lionfish.

If there is no anemone, the clownfish will pick out "its" rock. It will bring food to the rock and eat from there. They use the anemone in the wild to help hide from predators which is unnecessary when you're selecting appropriate tankmates.

6-line or 12-line wrasse are really neat. Gobies are good (I like clown gobies). Made sure the fish you get does not look like a clown fish, is about the same size as the clown, and not mean.
Cleaner shrimp or hermit crabs are really cool too.

blue green reef chromis. They are active little fish, great personality, fun to watch and beautiful, they change color with the lighting. They do best in schools, they like to chase each other

I would look for a small goby or one of the smaller wrasses.
