The creation of the first atomic bomb was called The Manhattan Project.

Robert Oppenheimer, David Bohm, Leo Szilard, Eugene Wigner, Otto Frisch, Rudolf Peierls, Felix Bloch, Niels Bohr, Emilio Segre, James Franck, Enrico Fermi, Klaus Fuchs and Edward Teller.

It was invented by a number of scientists for the United States during the Manhattan Project of World War II. Simultaneously, German and Soviet scientists were also trying to produce the atomic bomb. I don't think we can say that one particular person invented the atom bomb as it was a culmination of years of research by a fairly large number of physicists, chemists, and engineers.
