Today, I'm pretty sure I pulled my hamstring. I have a volleyball tournament this week, and I want to be able to play--for if I don't, my whole team can't. How long before it feels well enough to play on? And when will the pain go away completely? k thanks! :(

i would suggest just staying off your leg, or stretch the quads to help relax the hams and see if it actually is a pulled muscle or not..i would wrap ice around your hams but make sure if you ice them, to put a towel or something between your skin and the ice..
dont ice more than 15-20 minutes...do that about 3 times a day.
also add heat to help reduce the swelling..dont add the heat directly after the ice or before the ice..add it for 15 min..then about 10 minutes apart add the ice..or vice versa.

or if you dont want to fool with that you can visit a massage therapist and let them work on your leg for you, possibly they will say the same thing i told you..Im a Massage therapist myself.

There isn't really any set time that a pulled muscle can heal. Just make sure you put heat and ice on it, do 20min of heat 20min of ice for about an hour a day and that should help. If it still doesn't feel 100% by your game take 2-3 ibuprofen a half hour before your game and you should feel fine. Make sure you also stretch your hamstring a little everyday, not to hard but just enough so you feel a little pull. Good luck!

It depends how badly you pulled it and whether you put a cold pack (or e.g. a pack of frozen peas or similar) on it quickly (say within about 1/4 hour). I had a very successful massage business and I recommended resting the muscle for 48-76hours. Then it is very benificial to have the whole leg massaged. Using a herb ointment called arnica (to the injured area) is great for healing and this can be applied soon after the injury and also during the massage. The idea of massaging the whole leg is to loosen up the surrounding muscles to relieve the tension on the affected muscle. Also, pray with faith to God in Jesus Name - he is the master healer and he cares for you! (even the littlest of things)
God bless you and hope it goes well. I pray now that you will know the touch of the God Who loves you. Marcelle (Sydney)

it can take up to a month, I would keep walking on it even if it's a little painful and after a week or so you can try to stretch that muscle but do it very carefully.

if you try to do the tournament before it heals you can tear your muscle so take it easy...

good luck and feel better soon...
