The cupcakes aren't so hot, either.
Recently I bought both (on separate occasions) and was devastated by how crappy the Twinkies tasted and by how absolutely bland were the cupcakes. I figured there are at least two reasons:
1. over the years the recipes have been tweaked, modified and ingredients substituted or chemicalized to the point that the finished product no longer resembles --- in taste --- the intent of the original product
2. we're adults now and our taste buds have changed
So much for a trip down memory lane.
These days I just stay away from all cupcakes. I bake my own cookies. Once in a while I'll buy ho-ho's. They're considerably better than the other two.

I'm not sure that I want to know just how you know what crap tastes like.
Don't think I want to know why the person above me has been eating bug spray either...
Anyhow...twinkies are probably the most disgusting food ever. Right up there with fried grasshoppers, lmao. They have a shelf life of, ohhh about SIXTEEN YEARS, and even then they are still some what okay. How do I know this? I've read it in a book, lol. My father was given a book with all these random facts about this and that and yadda yadda in it. I read about the twinkies it that book. These people did all sorts of "experiments" on twinkies. It was rather disgusting. I neverr really ate twinkies before, but it definitely made me want to stay far away from them.

What the hell is wrong with you?! Twinkies do not taste like crap, but like little pieces of heaven. Boy did your mother screw up when raising you.

They only taste like crap to those who do not like them. A sponge cake filled with whatever is in them is something you either like or dislike. I have never eaten one so wouldn't know. I just know that the ingredients of them does not appeal to me. I'd say if you don't like them, don't eat them. They are of no nutritional value and anyone who does buy them simply do not care about their waistline.

because they took chocodiles off the market. Twinkies taste much better when smothered in chocolate.

No, they are the most wonderful source of pure sugar that you can get. Oh dear, now I have a craving for one of them and I rarely ever eat something like that, but you brought it to my mind. Darn, too late to go out and get one.

theyre way too sweet. one once in a while is ok i guess but the cake is sweet and the filling is even sweeter! eww
