f(x)=2x^2+3x-1 and g(x) =2x-4
How do I do this?

plug into g ==> then take your result and plug into f

(f*g)(1/2) = f(g(1/2))
plug in 1/2 into g(x)
g(1/2) = 2*1/2 - 4 = 1-4 = -3
now plug this -3 into f(x)
f(-3) = 2*(-3)^2 + 3(-3) - 1
f(-3) = 18 - 9 - 1 = 10

(f*g) (1/2) = 10

Just follow the bouncing ball. Multiply f(x) by g(x) and simplify the square root if you can.
