Strangely enough I say yes but for a different reason.
two teams who have been very successful recently (DET and SAN) but without a defining personality ala Showtime or Bad Boys; a star (Lebron James) continuing to rise: and the little team that could (Utah).
The league from a rating standpoint and watchibility is gonna have a problem cause the special feature games (like Christmas Day doubleheader) all year feature the Heat, Lakers and Suns and the Finals run a risk of very low ratings which equals very low interest.
The Association is about entertainment and these possible matchups for the Finals are as exciting as watching cars rust. Games will be played in the high 70s/low 80s all the way through.

No offense, but anyone who loves to see basketball played the way it should be - with a strong, fundamental big man and a couple of slashing guards alongside a perimeter shooter or two, has got to love these series. To me, the Spurs are one of the most fun teams to watch, because they do everything so well. Utah is a more fast-paced team, so I'm interested in how that series goes down. And LeBron vs. the Pistons defense will be a lot of fun, I think. All in all, a couple of good series with very good basketball, I hope, though it will be tough to top the Suns - Spurs series.

I wanted Mavs/Suns and Bulls/Raptors when the playoffs started...Well, only thing to do is go for the semi-watchable team. Let's go Jazz! I hope Detroit is humiliated and swept in the finals by either the Spurs or the Jazz. It would be nice to see Cleveland sweep them, but it probably wont happen. Hopefully the Pistons lose by 30 a game, then everyone will watch and the ratings will skyrocket.

I really hope that Utah beats San Antonio because the Spurs have already won too many championships. Plus i think that the Spurs are a sh!tty team. They are absolutly no fun to watch.
As for the East, i hope the Cavs will win because Detroit has already won their championship too. A Utah, Cleveland matchup would be alot more fun to watch than a San Antonio Detroit match-up

The Spurs are painful to watch. All the whining, Duncan doing the hands out incredulous look on every foul call or non call, Ginobli flopping all over the place, and Bowen kicking, punching, and slapping everyone. Then again, the Cavs seem to drop a 8 point quarter every game. I'm hoping for Detroit v Utah.

Spurs would most probably roll over the Jazz but the way Lebron and company are playing right now, Cavs vs Detroit is hard to predict.
I am sure there is still plenty left to watch.

Well I think LeBron James should be enough to draw viewers, but I don't see the Cavs beating the Pistons. As for the West, I'm actually looking forward to seeing to teams that play pretty similar styles battle it out. I mean think of all the story lines: new guys vs veteran team, Duncan, Parker, and Ginobli vs Boozer, Williams, and Fisher, etc.

The bulls are not a big deal to the nba as far as ratings.
Now because stern made a mistake in chaining up the suns in game 5, he has to root for, nay, pray for lebron to beat the pistons.

well the nba says they like it,but you know they can not stand for small market teams to win. since the spurs have won several times I am sure they are hoping they beat utah. utah is probably the smallest market in all of sports.
