There is a loophole in the policy, and requirements of appointing your running mate.
Legally Hillary could name Bill Clinton as her running mate for vice President. He can't run as president, but could be named as vice president, and in case of Hillary not being able to serve for different reasons, Bill Clinton becomes , again the President of the United States of America.
Any Takers??

Its highly unlikely that Hillary would have Bill be her running mate. He would still contribute to her presidency (if she is elected) by of course being an unofficial adviser/mentor....after all, she might have done the same thing when he was President! haha

I could see her having an Obama or Edwards be her running mate if she gets the democratic nomination.

That has been debated on many a political show and the consensus is that it can't happen. Because Bill has served his two terms, and under the Constitution he would only be allowed two more years should something happen to the President. Practicality prevents him being VP because technically Hillary could die two months in and then what happens when Bill hits the two-year mark and can't be President any longer? What would we do, have another Presidential election in opposition to the Constitution?

That's why Hillary has spoken about him being an Ambassador. He can't be in line for the Presidency. But if it were possible, yes, they would have my vote. Hillary Clinton has my vote now.

If you look at the literal text only, that would be a loophole. However, there is an implied additional factor: the VP must be able to assume the office of president if need be. And the Constitution specifically prohibits Bill Clinton from serving again.

Even if somehow they did work that, and they got elected, BC would not be in the line of succession--it would default to the Speaker of the House.

But--that aside--would I vote for them? Consideringwhat's running on the GOP side, you bet.

I choose Approve. I think that President Obama is a great leader of the country! I'm glad he was voted in! I think that America has made a change of the better.
