If it is a Holley carb should have a small filter where the fuel line goes in, if not get one. could be a float or clogged jet (since it isn't filtered).

take the line off the carb, turn the pump on. If it sprays gas at you then it's okay.

hook it back up, if it still doesnt run then you either have

1.) a clogged carb
2.) too small of jets in the carb
3.) dirt from no fuel filter clogging the carb
4.) a bad carb now.

rebuild it or buy a new one

I hope this helps- my 70 chevelle did this same exact thing- I simply had to replace the floats in the carb. You may need to adjust yours as well. The past owner used dry gas and it made swiss cheese out of them. Car ran fine afterwards. I hope this helps you. Oh- check for a kink caused by a rock in your fuel line under the car too- this was my problem on a different car I had, lol. No fuel went to my carb as a result of that.

OK,pull the carby off,buy a carby rebuild kit, around 25 bucks and rebuild the thing your self.it sounds to me that cause you werent running a filter it has clogged up all the filter internally and the jets in your idler and power needles.Once you rebuild it the car will run better anyways.

take the top of the carb off and check the float and needle valve, the float could be stuck up and not letting gas pour in.also check the pump in the carb. also.
