I read somewhere that 40 or 50% of newlyweds don't have sex on their wedding night because they're too tired. I find this hard to believe. Has any of the married people out there not "done it" on their wedding night?? And why not?

I believe it. Most couples have bachelor and bachelorette parties the night before that last most or all of the night. Barely any sleep during the night. The day of the wedding the Bride is here, there, and everywhere (nails, hair, etc.) and her nerves are a mess. Sleep is impossible. Groom is doing things (ie. hair cut, with friends, trying to calm down, lol) Then the ceremony and reception follows. Almost 2 days without sleep, when everything is over and done with -- the only thing they're focused on is SLEEP.

I got married at a young age so most of my bridesmaids were under the age to drink even though their parents didn't mind. After the reception was over we invited everyone back to our place and we all had a few drinks. It was around 3 or 4 in the morning before everyone had left. The last to leave was my mom who remarked to my husband that he needed to consumate his marriage. He looked at her like she was speaking latin or something. It was hilarious. Once everything got settled back down inside the house he was pretty much passed out from exhaustion.

In otherwords...we didn't have sex on our wedding night. But we made up for that the next night!!

sorry my husband and I didn't get any until a week after the wedding because we were to tired. However if everyone involved in the wedding did there part we would have bumped until the wall around us came a tumbling down. we ended up cleaning until 4am the next morning because my wedding party was too tired to clean. so make sure all that stuff is taken care of even if you have to pay someone.

Um...I am not married but I do have married girlfriends one that never did the deed on their wedding night. Well, she is filing for divorce because they don't seem to do much on any night anymore (2short years later). I would be ripping that tuxedo off my new hubby as soon as we where behind closed doors no matter how tired or long the day is it would definitely be a night full of hot passionate love making. hahaha.

I left my parents' house earlier that day and we went back to my husband's house and got married later that evening and consummated the marriage the same night. I think that statistic is stupid. But then there seem to be hardly any virgins anymore when marraige happens. I was a virgin on my wedding night and am glad I waited.

we had sex on our wedding night. but i believe the reason for that statistic is that now many couples live together for some time before they get married..so having sex on their wedding night isn't such a big deal, since they can just have sex the next day or whatever.

Yes --- Probably because they got too drunk at the reception or took too many muscle relaxers just to make it down the Ilse.
I had lots of sex on my wedding night though =)

It's less likely for this to happen if you haven't done it together before. Puts some mystery back in the process. I have a hard time imagining "too tired". Not even "too old" works here.

We eloped and only had a babysitter for an hour ( my son was 2 months old) so we didnt do it on our wedding night, but to me it was like any other night, there really wasnt anything special about it.
