I believe it is a never ending cycle. Negative thoughts on a regular basis, over and over again can definitely cause depression. Once you're depressed, more negative thoughts come and then you get even more depressed and more bad things start to happen. Thoughts are energy and bring to you exactly what you're putting out. Over the last five years I had begun to have increasingly withdraw into a downward spiral of depression..
