Alligators in Florida have been responsible for 25 fatalities in 50 years...
Nile crocs in Africa are responsible for an average of 300 fatalities EVERY year.
You do the math.

Alligators are north american creatures. Crocodiles live everywhere else.
Alligators are more affected by cold temperatures than most crocs.
There are MANY species of crocs. Some only eat fish. However, there are some VERY lethal crocs, most species live in Australia. Saltwater Crocs are considered the most lethal of all of the crocs/gators. They are the biggest and they are fast and can maintain quickness in a wider variety of temperatures than any of their cousins.

Depending on the species you are talking about, most crocs are bigger, nastier, and more likely to attack than the relatively calm gator.
In America, the American Croc rarely attacks American Alligators (which is the bigger species and known to kill/eat smaller crocs), but elsewhere in the world, crocs are really, really dangerous!

I saw a movie called Lake Placid with a big alligator. I think that alligator would win.

I would have to believe an Crocodile. If you go with the biggest specimen of both , a crocodile would defently win. My view point tho.

I'd put my money on the Crocs, especially if they were Nile or Saltwater.
