I think you're asking about dim lighting having a negative effect on your eyes, right? If so, the answer is no. It's an old wives tale. You're eyes will be just fine.

Well, your eyes will get tired because they will constantly be adjusting the size of the pupil in order to accommodate for the change in light intensity.
If it distracts you from studying, then YES, it is bad for studying!

Yes, it messes up your eyes by constantly having to focus and refocus. Try and fix it, if you want to keep your eyes from going bad.
