For a car to only die 4 times in 2 months is a good indiction that it is the battery. If it was the alternator, it would be dying almost every time you used the car. Sometimes batteries go bad, and will only hold a charge for a short time.

The good news is that your battery can be tested for no or little charge. Most places that sell batteries will test the battery to see if it will hold a charge. It is a simple test for a good mechanic, and is very worthwhile.

Be advised, it could also be a short in the electrical system that is taking a trickle charge, slowly draining a battery. Again, it is a simple test for a good mechanic, so take it to a garage you trust nd explain what has been happening. They will hook it up and test the system, and should be able to give you a fairly accurate answer for little or no charge.

It sounds like you may have more than one problem but if the charging system is not working properly it will not only cause the battery to not charge properly but it will make a car run rough as well as near stall out. You can have it load tested at an auto zone free and they should be able to tell what is wrong, the battery after a charge or jump start will start the engine all day and not the next morning if its going bad but charging. A charging system (alternator) will not charge the battery fully and if you turn on the radio and light s it will likely stall but restart if the battery has some charge in it or cause it to quit running when the charge that is in the battery is drained. Good Luck and GOD Bless

it sounds like the alternator. Good way to test it is to crank (jump) car and then disconnect batt while car is running. if your car keeps running, your alt is keeping the electrical components of your car energized. if not, could be your alt. Changing an alt isn't that challenging, so you could just swap it out with a known good alt. I hate to say it but your batt could be dead because of the drain ur alt has done to it if your alt is truly the problem.

I hate to tell ya, but batteries do wear out and need replaced. If you haven't already done so, buy a new battery. If your battery is relatively new...than your alternator is bad...not recharging your battery and hence it keeps dying!

a good way to test your car battery is get your car started and take off the red battery cable. If your car stay started than its your battery, if it cuts off its your alternator.
