Yes the jersey devil is real. I had a nasty encounter with it in 1991...scared the bejeezus outta me! it is not an animal, it is an entity.

If I remember the newspaper coverage correctly, there was a set of split hoofed tracks going in a straight line, even up and over roof tops, for a long distance on the morning after a snow storm. the track was that of a creature walking upright on two legs. The reporters said the trail ended in a wooded area.
Who am I to argue with the fourth estate.

I believe that people have seen something that they couldn't describe. I will not say that it is necessarily an unknown creature, just one that was unknown to the witnesses at the time. Nor will I say that it--or any other cryptozoolgical animal does not exist. Non-existence of proof is not proof of non-existence.

I don't know about the Jersey Devil, but the Hodag exists in northern Wisconsin, (Iv'e got pictures).
