Medical science has a way to extend the average lifespan but are holding back on such issues as stem cell research. If they extend life they do not have the means or the desire to invest in keeping up with the quality of those lives which would require a great deal of money to be invested in the health and care of the elderly including housing them in long term facilities as living longer does not mean your body will not age..

Just extending life is not enough if you are not willing to invest in the deeper issues that go along with it.
