1. Itching, from moderate to a lot, and sometimes imperceptible.
2. Burning sensation on the labia or skin surrounding the anus.
3. Thick, white discharge.
4. Foul odor, which sometimes might not be offensive, but different than what you'd normally smell like.
5. Excess discharge.
6. It may burn or sting when you wash the area.

A yeast infection is simply an imbalance on your skin's ph levels that allows candida albicans to over-grow on your skin. It may hapen due to excessive moisture (wearing a wet swimsuit for a long period, excess sweating, wearing too tight underwear or pants) or because someone else gave it to you.

As for STD's, the most common are
Chlamydia. It may give the same symptoms, but you usually would have pain on the lower abdomen and discomfort while having sex.
Ghonorrea. Symptoms of gonorrhea include burning or frequent urination, a yellowish vaginal discharge, redness and swelling of the genitals, and a burning or itching of the vaginal area.
Syphillis. Formation of an ulcer (chancre) is the first stage. The chancre develops any time from 10 to 90 days after infection, with an average time of 21 days following infection until the first symptoms develop.
HPV. Genital warts usually appear as small, fleshy, raised bumps, but they can sometimes be extensive and have a cauliflower-like appearance. They may occur on any sexually-exposed area. In many cases genital warts do not cause any symptoms, but they are sometimes associated with itching, burning, or tenderness.

In any case, you are better off visiting your ob/gyn.

Don't worry! Your question is not as nasty as the answer. Here are symptoms of a yeast infection:

1. Lots of thick white discharge that tends to clump together and stick around your labia (this is the main indicator of a yeast infection).
2. Horrible, horrible itching all over your vulva, especially at night.
3. (Sometimes) burning while urinating.
4. Redness, irritation and tenderness in your vulval area.

See your doctor if you are not sure about the cause of your discomfort. The doctor can perform a urinalysis to check for a urinary tract infection and do some culture tests that determine whether you have a yeast infection or something else. If it is a yeast infection, he or she can prescribe Diflucan, which takes care of the infection very quickly.

I hope I helped!

There are a lot of things that need to be considered here. Could it be an STD? Sometimes STDs can mimic yeast-like symptoms.
It is highly recommended that with your first yeast infection you go to the dr to get it checked out to make sure thats what it is. This would be awful if you though it was yeast and it was something else. Theres just too much stuff out their to be sure. Then next time you get this you will know the symptoms and you can treat it yourself. In the meantime, do not have sex because you can pass this on to your partner, even yeast.
Generally a yeast infection has a burning sensation. The discharge looks similar to cottage cheese and there's a lot of it. It may have a foul odor and it will be very itchy. The opening of your vagina will be red and sore. They do not go away on there own. Sometimes a period will help flush it out, though sometimes not. Just go get it checked out and good luck!

Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:

Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

if you think you could have something other than a yeast infection, you need to get to a Dr.quickly!!!!!Std's can really mess you up internaly not to mention other things that could kill you. My suggestion is to see a doctor and start using condoms.

The very first and biggest clue would be a very foul ordor and a white/grey discharge which sort of looks like curd. Secondly, you would feel an itching or burning sensation. If you are suspecting anything, you should probably go and get your doctor to check it ouy.
