To keep the back of the top drawer's bottom from spilling its contents into the drawer below and making it hard to open without jiggling and jiggering it. Drawers were in that drawer below, by the way. Til that huge green art book came along, boy! Saved the day! ... and the intermingling of drawers/socks. Which would have been a travesty. But that's a whole other... book! Ha aha. Ha.

A rabbit chew toy. They love the yellow pages the best. I've used them as projectiles when I've been mad (They hit a wall!). I've used them as recycling and tore out pages to use as rabbit litter when I was broke. Have yet to use them as toilet paper but if I had too....
