Red is the colour that results in the activation of your red colour receptors in your eye in conjuction with the social convention about the label of red.
Let me explain. If I switch the nerves in your eye so the blue cells see red and the red cells see blue, then all that was once blue is now red and red now blue.
But you will start to call what you see red as blue and blue as red, otherwise you will not be able to communicate with other people. But, red is the colour of danger, so we would still possess this instinct, but now associate it with the colour blue.
