If she really loved the fish then she will be able to tell a difference, so don't try to lie to your sister. Be the bigger person and admit your mistake and accident. Apologize and understand that she will be very upset for a while. While she is mad at you, don't get mad back, just remember she has the right to be upset. After she calms down, offer to go with her to the pet store and buy her a new goldfish that she picks out, then she will have a fish to call her own that she picked out and can grow to love.

How did you manage to accidentally kill the goldfish? Either way, purchase a new one, that looks similar. Your sister probably will not know the difference. Be more careful in the future.

How can you "accidentally" kill a goldfish? Anyway, buy a replacement. She won't know the difference unless she remembers any physical features.

How did it die? If it was out of water for less than a day, put it back in and it can wake back up sometimes. If it's your fish, your sister should understand. Maybe get a new one to help you both

well if you cant get to a pet store and buy another in time i would just tell her the truth, she'll get over it and eventualy forget she was mad at you. its just a small goldfish, they're cheap and you can get another, its not such a big deal.

Listen, relax. RELAX! Just take a small moment, come to her calmly and tell her what happened. Of course, apologize to her because it was an accident (right), and she should find it in her to forgive you.

Well, you should at least try getting one in the same kind or close to the same fish you got.
