Louisiana (New France) was named after Louis XIV, one of France's greatest and most powerful kings. When René-Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle claimed the territory drained by the Mississippi River for France, he named it La Louisiane, meaning "Land of Louis".

Well, i'm going to take a wild guess that the Louis comes from the king of France, being as Louisiana belonged to France before we bought it. And as far as the Ana part goes, I think that is just another way of saying "ville" or "town" I don't think Ana was a person
